Great North Big Band Jazz Festival 

 

The 7th Great North Big Band Jazz Festival will take place in Sunderland on 5th 6th and 7th March 2010.
The Festival will open at 8.00pm on Friday 5th March at the Bonded Warehouse, Low Street, Sunderland and will feature the Festival Big Band with alto sax soloist Paul Jones.
The competitive Festival will be held at Campus, Charles Street, on the Sir Tom Cowie Campus at St. Peter’s Sunderland, beginning at 11.00 am with the youth section continuing with the senior section at 2.30pm. This will include bands from Wigan, Sheffield, Lancaster and Leeds as well as local bands from Newcastle and Durham. A winners concert featuring the three winning bands will begin at 7.30pm.
Sunday will also be a competition for school bands beginning at 1.00pm followed by small bands.
All tickets are priced at £5.00 and can be purchased at the door of the event.
